The problems created by the migration of water from dam construction are widely documented. Many sites have been undermined by inappropriate sealing systems which have been installed incorrectly. In some instances settlements have occurred within the structure itself for which the sealing system was unable to cope with.

WALO specialise in overcoming these problems with a Dense Asphaltic Concrete lining system designed from clean aggregates, fillers, sand and bitumen installed using specialised laying techniques to provide a very strong yet flexible, completely impermeable barrier.

Dense Asphaltic Concrete is a very stable, none toxic lining,  being completely safe to human, animal and marine life. It is a relatively thin lining system to construct yet is capable of flexing under extreme pressure without the risk of stress cracking occurring.

 

 

 

The joints in the DAC system are made strong and completely impermeable by the special treatment and compaction methods employed.

DAC is specifically designed for use on large slopes and in areas not easily accessible with other materials. It is quick to lay completely impermeable and will remain in service for many decades
