Walo UK Limited is a division of the Walo Bertschinger Group of Switzerland. The Parent Group was founded in Zurich in 1917 as a Civil Engineering business and over many decades expanded the enterprise throughout the whole of Switzerland opening locally based divisions in many diverse fields of operations. Today, throughout the whole of Europe and Overseas, the group is actively developing new enterprises.

The WALO group, which is wholly owned by the Bertschinger Family, currently employs over 2,300 people. The Groups’ objectives are to keep abreast of market forces and to adjust the business to changes in all its fields of operation. Our people are our strength; therefore their health, safety, training and general wellbeing are always at the forefront of our business philosophy. Our equipment is always modern and continually being developed to meet the challenges of a modern developing world.

In 1999 the WALO Group opened a divisional office in Preston Lancashire UK, under the management of Mr. Raymond Keall, to develop the specialised Dense Asphaltic Concrete (DAC) barrier system for the Water, Power, Landfill and Public sectors throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland. From our Preston division we are able to respond quickly to all enquiries and carry out contracts with the minimum of notice.

WALO have an established technical engineering knowledge and the necessary modern specialist plant and equipment to provide a DAC impermeable barrier system anywhere and for any situation.
